The reduction of salaries was then proposed in view of the small collection of Fees in 1896, viz $9948. With $27,000 Fees for 1899 this argument no longer holds. There is however room for reduction of salaries in English staff when a Senior at $2450 is transferred and a Junior at $1800 appointed.
